to make a tincture:  soak fresh herb in alcohol, I use a 1qt jar packed full of fresh herb, then fill the jar with vodka or everclear, cover, and let stand for 2 weeks.  I then drain through cheese cloth into storage bottles. this is 100% tincure.
to make a tea, take 1tsp of herb or herb blend, boil water, take water off heat, transfer to glass container then steep the herb for 30 minutes...add honey to taste as needed

Herbal Healing...made simple

I am not a licensed practioner of herbal healing, instead, I am a student and believer in the study of herbal healing.  I survive Hep C due to the use of a mushroom named Ganoderma Applanatum, also known as the Artist Conk.  I use various remedies on myself for COPD, and I use various tincures and salves for various medical uses...

First off, let's tackle the common cold...it either takes 2 weeks to clear up, or it takes 2 weeks to treat it...but if you must.   For cough, mallow,Yarrow, coltsfoot, and licorice root work well.

For fever, I use 1 part each of licorice root, yarrow, and juniper seeds in a hot tea.

If I can't sleep, I use 1 part each of valerian root, skullcap, and st. john's wort in a hot tea.

For chronic pain, depression, nausea, insomnia, and bronchial problems, I use cannabis for medical reasons...in spite of the laws, I believe and am living proof that it works for medicinal purposes...we need to get it together folks...

For aches in the muscles, spasms, and joint pain, arnica, applied externally.

For PMS, I get this from a reliable female practitioner, use in equal parts don quai, black cohosh, and valerian root in a hot tea as often as needed for cramps, mood swings, etc.

I'll add more as I go along...
